Today is one of ‘those days’. I’d like to simply blame it on the weather (gray and blah) but somehow I think there may be more to it than that. I think most of us have felt alone at one point or another and I believe that feeling continues to come and go throughout our lives.
It might strike when we’re sitting in our home with family all around…it could be while we’re at the office surrounded by co-workers…or it may happen as we lie awake in our beds at night overwhelmed and forlorn.
1Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy
What happens when we cry out but we fail to ‘hear’ a reply? When we’re at the absolute end of our rope and it seems that we’re drowning and there’s no one to throw us a life preserver…what then?
Are we really all alone or are we so caught up in our own self-pity that we’ve stopped ‘listening’ for those answers we’re so desperate for?
I believe that in most cases we become so discouraged we lose sight and forget what it means to have faith. These are the times we need to remember God is always with us whether we stop and take the time to ‘feel’ and ‘hear’ Him or not. When I think of the word faith I instantly visualize walking along the beach and seeing only one set of footprints. I then realize my Lord and Savior is ‘carrying’ me because I’m too distraught to take another step on my own!

Today my son and I have the house to ourselves and have been sitting next to each other using our laptops. He was looking up various bands which got me in the mood, so I began listening to a few of my ‘favs’ when I came across the following video. This song has always been one that speaks to me and I was immediately brought to tears. It is so powerful…listen carefully to the ‘words’ and I promise it will touch you too.
In my opinion having faith is when we’re desperate and on our knees yet we still know we are NOT alone. It also means never doubting His presence even on the days we can’t readily sense it and then trusting that answers will come…maybe not in our time or the way we’d like them to (they might not be the answers we want either)…but believing He will respond.

The song is titled ‘Never Alone’ and that is so important to hold onto. When we ‘cry out’ and don’t ‘hear’ a reply it doesn’t mean we’re on our own…our God will not forsake us…even on those dark and gloomy days when we wish the sun was shining…we simply need to have faith.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This is powerful darling. Faith is also different to each and every one of us. Those who live it daily for all the world to witness and those who quietly live it only for themselves. God is smiling down on you right now as am I.

“having faith is when we’re desperate …but believing He will respond.”
Couldn’t have said it better. Thank you for the words and the song, Bridget. Brightened my day.
Thank you Bonnie! That song is just so awesome and always puts things back into perspective for me.
Awesome!
Faith is easy in the good times but so much harder when the tough times come. Thank you for the reminder!
I have to ‘remind’ myself in those times too (like right now)!
