For this Fun Friday I thought I’d try something totally different. I’ve already shared how I became a believer of Social Media and thought it might be fun to introduce you to some of the amazing people I’ve met in this exciting new world with a #FollowFriday post!

I’m going to start with a few of my Twitter friends who are authors and have gone out of their way to answer questions and/or offer support and encouragement. If I remember correctly the first ‘writer’ type question I posed was to @cjdarlington. When she graciously replied to my inquiry I was extremely excited and our ‘conversations’ have been awesome ever since. Next was @CandaceCalvert who also helped quell my curiosity and gave me a new series to read (hurry up @TyndaleHouse …I’m anxious for more of Candy’s Mercy Hospital books).
I began following @RachelleGardner soon after I was on Twitter so I could keep up with all her terrific tips and advice for new authors (like me! She isn’t following me back yet, but it’s my mission to fix that). While reading these ‘tips’ one day I noticed she was chatting with @katdish about a new author @billycoffey (@katdish/aka my Twitter Idol & @billycoffey/aka my Twitter cowboy crush-LOL). The two of them are incredibly fun, friendly, supportive, insightful, (did I mention fun yet) and have amazing blogs that are a MUST READ for all! Billy is going to have a book out soon and I intend to be first in line when it hits the shelves!
Thanks to Rachelle I got hooked to Kathy, who led me to Billy, which then allowed me to ‘meet’ @PeterPollock. Peter reminds me regularly what it really means to #bethechurch (thanks Peter). He’s also been generous in answering my questions and his blog always leaves me with something to ponder.
Now I need to mention some of the other ‘tweeps’ I’ve met (thankfully) through these connections. If you ever need a ‘pick me up’, look for these two incredible ladies and I guarantee your spirits will be lifted… @Helenatrandom and @Weightwhat. They are caring, witty, and totally random (I love it Helen & Wendy…keep it comin’)!
A few others I’ve been fortunate enough to ‘find’ are: @br8kthru, @TheBonnieGray, @Chrissulli , @shrinkingcamel, @PuriChristos , @MarketerMikeE and @makeadiff21! Thank you Jason, Bonnie, Chris, Brad, Nick and Mike for all of your RT’s, thoughts/comments and online ‘entertainment’.
The thing that worries me by writing a post like this is I might leave somebody out (unintentionally of course) and if that happens, I’m sorry! There are so many of you in my ‘Twitter Family’ that mean a lot to me…whether we chat daily or seldom. This post really pertains to those in my Twitter/Author life, though I have to show some love for my Real Estate friends, new acquaintances, and ‘locals’ as well (♥ ya guys)!
There are some (@Schnik, @onephotonerd) who have subsequently become members of our family and your friendships (and more) are priceless! I also have one last ‘shout out’ about someone I’ve enjoyed ‘reconnecting’ with… @TheFirstCarol (she’s a blast)!
I used to believe these online connections were purely a waste of time and most would be superficial at best…I’m very pleased to say that hasn’t been the case and I feel truly blessed to have these ‘tweople’ in my world (which has become much, much smaller now)!

Aw. Some link love. How special is that! You are my “faith find”. Your writing, whether through comments, tweets and posts are from a true heart, an encourager. Thanks for introducing us to your other #FF friends. Thank you, Bridget!
Yes, you should link to it. Baby steps… ;o)
Thanks for mentioning me, Bridget! It’s great having fun with you and everyone else on twitter (especially if you don’t mind a pastor who’s a bit of a goof).
I don’t twitter, but you could have mentioned me!
tearful
Mommy
Bridget, thanks for the kind mention and for a great post–and toast!–to the blessings of finding new friends via social networking. You are absolutely one of my “faves”!
Yes, Twitter can be addictive. A conversation of people with a 140 character buzzer going off on everything they say. Lots of good and fun blogs you mention, too. As for Rachelle, I have a feeling she’ll follow you soon. You’ve got a good blog going. She followed me right away, but we went to school together years ago. (So you might say I cheated.) It was fun to find her again.
I guess you had an ‘in’ with Rachelle-lol
I just put it together who you are on Twitter and that we’ve recently been following each other. I look forward to ‘chatting’ more and getting to know you better!
Aww, thanks Bridget.
I really appreciate you!
I point to you as an example of anyone who immediately bashes Twitter as useless and a waste of time. Twitter is just like life, it’s what you make of it. There are several people I never would have met it it wasn’t for Twitter and blogs and I am glad to have met them
Thanks Mike. It is so true that many things in life are only successful if we make them that way! Lots of wonderful connections have been made…you included!
Bridg!
I am proud to be called a member of your family. You guys keep me on my toes watching out for Nazi ZOMBIES! AHHHHHH!
My kids think of you as an older brother and we love it (and you)! Look out for those Zombies….AHHHH!
@Helen @Wendy…yes baby steps for me! I love you both too!
@Bonnie I love ‘faith find’…I am so glad the connection was made…I learn from all of you every day!
@Jason My fav’s are goofy Pastors-lol
@Candace Thank you! -to the blessings indeed.
@Peter You are a ‘giver’…thank you for your generosity!
I’m so honored to be included in this list!
I’m also thankful for every friend and the fun banter we have on Twitter, on Facebook (I’m your fan!) and am so glad your MY Facebook fan, and in real life. Most of all, I can’t wait to read celebrate your book. Keep writing, you’re wonderful.
Thanks Carol! I can’t wait until we get to celebrate our books together!
Bridget,
Thanks for including Tyndale in your list! We’re very honored & so glad you’re enjoying Candace’s books (hopefully some of our others too!). Don’t worry–the next one’s due out this spring!
Ain’t twitter grand? And you should ask Billy for an autographed copy. Tell I said so…
Awesome
How cool, Bridget! I’m not ready for Twitter yet.
Brenda…I have no doubt you’d do just fine…
