Sunday…Worship

by BridgetChumbley on February 21, 2010

Everywhere we turn, we watch as our friends, loved ones, neighbors, as well as complete strangers… struggle.

If it isn’t a financial issue, it may be because they are going through a divorce, have a sick family member, kids who are making all the wrong choices… the circumstances as to why they are hurting are endless…

As many of you know, I have a 12 and 14 year old. I’m not in the car without at least one of them very often, so I cherish the drives where I choose EVERY song… the volume… and can actually enjoy it!

I like to flip through the stations until I find a song I like. I listen to all sorts of music, and it just depends on the moment as to what potentially strikes my fancy.

The last few weeks, this is the song I inevitably run across while channel flipping (God is pretty cool like that). It really speaks to me and I find myself lost in the powerful lyrics. I hope it has an impact on you as well, and whatever situation you may be facing…

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. ~Romans 5:1-5

Oh yes – my current favorite song! I had it on repeat on my iPod, blipped it on blip.fm, and even tweeted “Impossible is not a word,
It’s just a reason for someone not to try.” The words were playing over and over in my head this week. Thanks for sharing, Bridget :) Have a great week!
